The data we collect
- If you contact us via WhatsApp: your name (as shown on WhatsApp), your phone number, and the content of your message. When you use the WhatsApp link, your message is sent through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta and governed by Meta's own privacy terms.
- If you contact us by email: your email address and the content of your message.
- Technical data: when you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, to keep the site secure and running.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we do not use any non-essential cookies.
Why we use your data, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss whether BookSnug is right for your venue. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries about our product and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep the site secure and operational. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in protecting and maintaining our website.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run the site and communicate with you: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and, where you choose to use it, WhatsApp/Meta. We do not sell your personal data. Some of these providers are based outside the UK; where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting relationship, and then delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, and the right to data portability, in each case subject to legal limits. To exercise any of these, email contact@booksnug.co.uk.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first at contact@booksnug.co.uk so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
